Hope:
That this horrific event may someday end
That the suffering and loss will end
That we can find some normalcy, as different as it may look
That one day we can hug again without fear
Pride:
To be on the receiving end of all the hard work these men and woman of science did to fight this devastating disease
Relief:
Knowing that soon I will not be a threat to my family and friends
I can better protect my patients
I may not die
Guilt:
Why I was able to get the vaccine when so many didn’t get this chance and suffered and so many died
Why so many on my team are still waiting and remain at risk
Sadness:
How many thousands have died
How many patients I cared for died
How many families are lost in despair
Extreme Sadness:
John died yesterday. On the darkest day of the year. Fitting.
Peace:
The beginning of the end.
A way out.
The light at the end of the tunnel, but at the begging of a new appreciation for Life.
